Two seasons ago, Brandon Aiyuk was one of the top wide receivers in the NFL. He had great chemistry with quarterback Brock Purdy and became a crucial part of the San Francisco 49ers offense.

In 2023, Aiyuk had 1,342 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. The 49ers rewarded him with a four-year, $120 million contract extension in August 2024. Many fans thought he would lead the team’s offense for years.

Then everything changed. He tore his ACL, and his 2024 season ended early. He missed the entire 2025 season as well. Instead of big plays on the field, the news focused on off-field problems, including a speeding incident near Levi’s Stadium. Now, fans are unsure about what his future holds.

This week, popular streamer N3on publicly called out Aiyuk. N3on claimed the wide receiver asked for $100,000 for a collaboration.

“I’ve had an NFL player, Brandon Aiyuk, DM and say $100k for a collab,” N3on said. “$100k? Are you f****** serious? I don’t get what’s up with these NFL players tryna ask for money bro, it’s insane! Let’s just vibe out have fun, come, promote your business, show some love, like, jeez.”

Soon after, a fake video from a parody X account started spreading online. The clip showed a man letting ice cream melt on himself. Some people wrongly claimed the man was Aiyuk. He was not in the video, but the rumor still caught eyes.

Many fans voiced concern instead of anger.

“this man got that AB early onset CTE,” one fan wrote.

“If he is going through a crisis. He definitely needs help. But this is just reckless and ridiculous,” another fan posted on X.

“In my opinion, he needs help, and no Cleveland is not checking for him. Prayers for Aiyuk.,” a third fan added.

Others focused on his contract. One fan pointed out that the 49ers signed him to a $120 million deal and received only seven games, a torn ACL and MCL, and silence on social media.

Last month, general manager John Lynch addressed the situation. Lynch made it clear that Aiyuk will not return in 2026.

“I think it’s safe to say that he’s played his last snap with the Niners,” Lynch said. “It’s unfortunate. A situation that just went awry. And I will look long and hard at what could have been done differently, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. And I think that this was a case where that happened.”

Aiyuk also lost about $27 million in guaranteed money after missing rehab sessions last offseason. The 49ers plan to release him when the new league year begins.

For now, fans are watching and waiting. Many hope he gets the help he needs and finds a fresh start with another team.
