Cooper DeJean Reacts to First Pro Bowl Honor but Says Four Eagles Were “Criminally Robbed” After Dominant Seasons

Posted December 23, 2025

For Philadelphia Eagles, the announcement of the 2026 Pro Bowl rosters brought both celebration and frustration inside the locker room.

Five Eagles were named to the 2026 Pro Bowl Games as the initial rosters were announced on Tuesday morning:

Rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean earned his first Pro Bowl selection, a moment that capped off a breakout season and validated his rapid rise in Philadelphia’s secondary.

DeJean, drafted in the second round, quickly became one of the league’s most reliable nickel corners. Through 15 games, he piled up 84 tackles, 16 passes defended, and two interceptions, consistently holding his own against top receivers.

While DeJean expressed gratitude for the honor, his excitement was mixed with visible frustration. Inside the Eagles’ building, the belief is strong that several teammates were unfairly left off the Pro Bowl roster despite elite-level production all season long.

“Being selected is an incredible honor, and I’m thankful,” DeJean said. “But at the same time, it’s hard to celebrate knowing how many guys in this locker room absolutely deserved to be there too.”

The frustration centers around four Eagles defenders who many around the league believe were criminally robbed of Pro Bowl recognition after stellar years.

If there is one that is the biggest snub from the Pro Bowl, it would undoubtedly be Davis. He has racked up 65 tackles, nine tackles for loss, eight pressures, six batted passes, six quarterback hits, 4.5 sacks, a field goal block, and one block return for a touchdown in 15 games. Carter already has love from the NFL, but Davis has been more reliable than Carter and should have been the selection at defensive tackle.

So Carter misses multiple games and is still voted in despite a down year, but Johnson is having one of the best seasons of his career and gets snubbed for missing games? Johnson has only allowed seven pressures, zero quarterback hits, and zero sacks on the season. Jurgens does not deserve to get in over Johnson, so this is a big miss from the Pro Bowl voters.

Here’s another defensive tackle who could arguably be voted over Carter for the Pro Bowl. Ojomo has racked up 34 tackles, 18 pressures, 10 quarterback hits, five tackles for loss, five sacks, and one pass deflection. He’s been the best pass rusher on the team and leads the Eagles in sacks, so this might be a miss for the Pro Bowl selections.

Once again, an offensive lineman missed having to be on the Pro Bowl roster. Pro Football Focus has him ranked as the eighth-best offensive tackle in the NFL with an 82.3 grade. This season, he has allowed four quarterback hits and two sacks, showing he is still one of the league’s best left tackles.

“These guys didn’t just have good seasons,” DeJean added. “They were dominant. Everyone in this room knows it, and that’s what matters most.”

Despite the disappointment, DeJean emphasized that the snubs only add fuel to a team already locked in on postseason success. The Eagles remain focused on what truly defines their season, not individual accolades.

In Philadelphia, Pro Bowl votes may be missed opportunities, but respect inside the locker room is earned snap by snap, and this Eagles defense believes the league will feel those omissions when January football arrives.
