“My teammates can feel that energy—They know it’s time to get the job done,” Josh Allen declares after leading Bills to 31-19 victory..
Josh Allen might not have been at his best on Sunday, but when it came down to crunch time, the Buffalo Bills’ quarterback delivered a performance that had both his teammates and head coach, Sean McDermott, in awe.
In a pivotal 31-19 win over the New Orleans Saints, Allen turned the game around with a late-game burst, including a game-changing 27-yard run and a clutch 28-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Kincaid. Despite finishing with 209 yards and two touchdowns on 16-of-22 passing, Allen’s most impressive trait on Sunday was his ability to raise his game when the team needed him most.
“When I see Coach McDermott looking at me, I know he can see the determination in my eyes,” Allen said after the game. “It’s like my teammates can feel that energy, too. When I raise my level of play, they follow suit. They know it’s time to get the job done, and we feed off each other. That’s when we really start clicking as a team.”
And click they did. Allen’s 27-yard run on 3rd-and-5 in the fourth quarter set up the Bills’ crucial touchdown, giving them a nine-point lead and sealing the game. “That’s when we really start clicking,”
Allen said, referring to the moment when he takes his play to another level and his teammates rise to the occasion with him.
