Jeremiah Smith drops his Ohio State football Mount Rushmore – SSS

While another Big Ten matchup in Happy Valley is receiving much of the attention, there is another game happening in the Pacific Northwest that could have major conference title ramifications.

Jeremiah Smith and No. 1 Ohio State are venturing to Seattle to take on undefeated Washington, and with the game being featured in CBS’ 3:30 p.m. EST time slot, the network was able to ask Smith a variety of questions during the week.

And while there was plenty to discuss when it came to the Huskies, perhaps the most important question Smith was asked regarded who would reside on his hypothetical Mount Rushmore of Ohio State wide receivers?

His answer:

“One, you gotta go with the great Cris Carter,” Smith said. “Imma throw Marv [Harrison Jr.] in there, and then I’m gonna go with Jaxson [Smith-Njigba] and Ted Ginn Jr.”

Smith’s list featured a mix of past legends and recent greats. Carter, of course, played at Ohio State from 1984-1986, while Ginn Jr. came along later from 2004-2006.

And in just the past decade, Smith-Njigba (2020-2022) and Harrison Jr. (2021-2023) overlapped, with each of them likely being players that inspired Smith to sign with the Buckeyes.

It is also worth noting that Smith emphatically said “no, I can’t” when it was suggested he could include himself on the list, and he added that you really can’t go wrong with a host of former OSU wide outs
