The Pittsburgh Steelers made a huge move in the offseason to trade for DK Metcalf.

It looked like they’d have a star WR combo between him and George Pickens. But then they traded Pickens away to the Cowboys.

That has left them in a tricky spot. Metcalf is great, but beyond him, the Steelers are lacking wide receiver potency.

They could’ve remedied that by picking one in the draft at No. 21 overall, where they picked DT Derrick Harmon.

Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski put together a 2025 re-draft in a new article this week. And he thinks the Steelers should have taken Luther Burden at that pick.

Burden instead went No. 39 overall to the Chicago Bears.

He had been the top WR recruit in his high school class, and his penultimate college season was fantastic, but a bit of regression in his last year on campus bumped him down draft boards just a bit.

“Pittsburgh’s actual first-round pick, Derrick Harmon, may be a great fit for the Steelers defense,” Sobleski writes. “At the same time, it really doesn’t matter when the team’s passing attack is stagnant and the offense ranks among the league’s bottom eight. Luther Burden III was viewed as a top-10 talent entering the 2024 collegiate campaign. The two-time first-team All-SEC honoree didn’t produce to the same level as the previous season, which caused him to slide into the second round. But the traits everyone originally saw remain evident. Burden could have added a completely different dynamic to Pittsburgh’s offense thanks to his ability to create after the catch.

Burden has gotten better as the season has gone on.

Early in the year, he was Chicago’s WR3. But lately, he’s been more important to Caleb Williams’ WR group than DJ Moore.

Burden looks like he’ll be a great player. The Steelers sure would love to have him.
