The Kansas City Chiefs look to get back in the win column when they face the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football.

One person not dwelling on the Chiefs’ frustrating 31-28 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, during which Kansas City racked up 13 penalties for 109 yards, is Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

“We’re moving on,” Kelce said on the latest episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “We got the [expletive] Lions coming in. I don’t need to really talk anymore about the Jags loss. Everybody saw firsthand all the debauchery that (expletive) happened that game. And we just got to be better.”

Kelce made NFL history during the Monday Night Football matchup. After catching 7-of-8 passes for 61 yards and a touchdown against Jacksonville, he broke the league record for most receptions by a tight end (1,026) through his first 13 seasons.

Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, also made history this week.

Swift did not make it to EverBank Stadium for the Chiefs-Jaguars game, as she was busy promoting her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

During multiple interviews, Swift confirmed Kelce inspired numerous songs on the album, which shattered the record for biggest album sales in week. “The Life of a Showgirl” surpassed Adele’s previous record of 3.482 million units in just five days, Billboard reported.

One day before the Lions-Chiefs primetime matchup, Swift broke another new record.

“The Life of a Showgirl” became Amazon’s most-streamed album of the year within the first 10 hours of its release and Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day in 2025. Swift hasn’t been shy about crediting her romance with Kelce as the inspiration behind the record.

In addition to “Wood” and “The Fate of Ophelia,” the song “Opalite,” which Kelce dubbed his favorite track, is also about the 10-time Pro Bowler. On Saturday, October 11, “Opalite” became he fastest non-single in history to reach 100 million streams on Spotify.

Speaking to Capital FM radio last week, “Travis’ birthstone is an opal, so I’ve always fixated on that, I’ve always loved that stone,” Swift said. “I thought it was kind of [a] cool metaphor. [Opalite is] a man-made opal, and happiness can also be man-made, too. So, that’s kind of what the song is about, kind of the juxtaposition of those two.”

 

While fans hope Swift returns to Arrowhead Stadium for the Lions-Chiefs game on Sunday, she missed Kansas City’s game last week largely due to her appearance on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.”

During the taping, the 35-year-old revealed why she’s not yet interested in headlining the Super Bowl halftime show. “Jay-Z has always been very good to me,” Swift said. “Our teams are very close.

“They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about…?’ And that’s not an official offer or a conference room conversation. We’re always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field.”

While Kelce has no issue with Swift taking on the gig, Swift couldn’t handle it. “Can you imagine if, like, he’s out there every single week putting his life on the line doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport and I’m like, ‘I wonder what my choreo should be. I think we should do two verses of ‘Shake It Off’ into ‘Blank Space’ into ‘Cruel Summer.’”
