PHILADELPHIA — The Eagles’ season came to an abrupt end Sunday night, and with it came a wave of difficult conversations that the organization can no longer avoid. After a 23–19 wild card loss to the San Francisco 49ers, head coach Nick Sirianni addressed the growing scrutiny surrounding offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, while also defending star wide receiver A.J. Brown amid visible sideline tension.

Speaking in his postgame press conference, Sirianni struck a measured tone when asked directly about Patullo’s job security. Rather than offering a firm endorsement or hinting at immediate change, the head coach acknowledged that everything is now on the table.
“Yeah, you know, again, it will be time to evaluate everybody’s performance,” Sirianni said. “Right now, I feel for all our guys in the locker room. All the players, all the coaches, front office, everybody that works so hard.”
Patullo, who was promoted to offensive coordinator in February 2025 after Kellen Moore departed for New Orleans, has faced criticism throughout the season. Despite an offense loaded with talent, Philadelphia ranked 24th in total offense, averaging just 311.2 yards per game. Against the 49ers, the Eagles managed only two touchdowns, one on a first quarter Dallas Goedert run and another on a short Jalen Hurts pass in the second quarter.
That performance poured gasoline on an already heated debate. Prominent Eagles analyst Chase Senior openly blamed Patullo for the playoff loss, calling the play calling “disastrous” and urging Sirianni to act quickly.
“Why did the Eagles lose this game? Offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo,” Senior said. “Nick Sirianni needs to fire his best friend within the next 24 hours. All year, Patullo has shown time and time again that he’s incompetent.”
