Dak Prescott ranks second in the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns with 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns from seven outings.
It’s a known fact that Stephen A. Smith is no fan of the Dallas Cowboys. The leading ESPN panelist and sportscaster throws shade at the NFC East at every instance he gets. However, as the Dallas Cowboys cruised to a surprisingly explosive win over the Washington Commanders in Week 7, Smith has given credit where it’s due.
In the game against the Commanders, quarterback completed 70% of his passes, throwing for 264 yards and three touchdowns. The performance led Prescott to in passing yards (1,881) and touchdowns (16) behind Justin Herbert and Matthew Stafford in those categories, respectively. And Stephen A. Smith thinks puts him in the MVP race.
I have Dak Prescott, right now, as a leading candidate for MVP honors the way he’s playing right now. 71 percent completions, 270 yards a game, 13 touchdowns, no interceptions, a passer rating of 128 over his last four games, he’s been sensational, no doubt about it, he’s earning his money.

Smith has previously vouched for Prescott this season. After the Cowboys cruised to a 2-2-1 record, Smith noted that the absence of his favored wideout in CeeDee Lamb, and star DE Micah Parsons, being traded to the Green Bay Packers, put more pressure on Prescott’s shoulders. And Smith thinks that the 32-year-old QB has handled that perfectly.
I just say to myself, with CeeDee Lamb out, with Micah Parsons having been traded, with the pressure clearly falling on the shoulders of Dak Prescott, he has answered the call. And right now, I think he needs to be a leading candidate for league MVP honors.
However, Smith did not fail to highlight the postseason numbers that day. In his ten years in the league, Prescott has just two postseason victories, winning Wild Card games in 2019 and 2023.
We shouldn’t give a damn about what he’s doing in the regular season. It’s about the postseason. You’ve been in the league for 10 years now. You got two playoff wins on your resume. Lord help you.

The Eagles have a highly successful unit with Super Bowl winning skills despite the recent drama in their offensive unit. These issues surfaced in the early part of the season, and they seemed to have worked on them in the last victory.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts threw for more than 300 yards, and DeVonta Smith had a magical night with 183 receiving yards and a touchdown on nine carries. If the Eagles continue to maintain this form, they have high chances of being the first repeat division winners in the NFC East since 2004.
